Yes, you did just Jesus Juke the J...Love it, Megan! Yes, you did just Jesus Juke the Jesus Juke. But you've also made an important discovery: being aware of things makes us more sensitive to them.

Examples:
-I'm a grammar nerd, so I naturally edit everything I read. Sometimes I treat a good post with scorn because of a misused apostrophe or misspelling of "to/too." I have a hard time ignoring grammatical errors because I'm so familiar with the grammar rules.
-People tend to be more condemning of sins with which they themselves struggle, because they're so familiar with them. It's the old "plank-in-your-own-eye" syndrome. (I.e., hypocrisy)

Anyway, while I think it's fun to poke fun (especially at things we ourselves do), you're right that we need to keep from getting scornful or cynical. Because with recognition of funny habits or trends comes distancing onesself from those trends and feeling high-and-mighty.

Paul said, "if I can spot a grievous Jesus Juke from a mile away, but have not love, I am nothing."

Ok, maybe not. But Paul DID say that love is "the greatest of these." And Jesus Juke or no, it's always the most important thing to remember. :)

Take care, and thanks for the Awesome post!

A #startexp friend,

LaJoie Ward
Http://thoughtsofjoy17.blogspot.comAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11598742810818040772noreply@blogger.com
